Obituary of Mr. William "David" Ford

“The Earthly Journey Ends”
William David Ford affectionally called “David” was born on June 7 th , 1967 in Dillon,
South Carolina to William Moses Hatchell and Sadie Ford Hatchell. He departed this
life and entered into eternal rest on August 6 th , 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital
in Winton Salem, North Carolina.
David attended Dillon County schools and graduated from Dillon High School, Class
of 1985. He held various jobs within the Manufacturing Industries.
David grew up in St. Mark Baptist church as a youth and later after relocating to
Charlotte, North Carolina, he joined New Beginnings Community Church of Mint Hill,
North Carolina where he gave his life to Christ. He served on the Media Ministry for
several years. He was an active member of the local Newtown Outreach Youth
Ministry under the leadership of the late Mrs. Willie Dale McQueen.
David was kind, gentle, compassionate and a jokester. To know him was to love him.
He had an infectious smile and a very big heart. He never met a stranger and people
were always drawn to him. He had a way of making you laugh and was the life of
the party. He truly loved all his family and close friends. His favorite three words
were “I Love You” and every conversation ended that way. He had an
unprecedented love for dogs, especially his dog named “Butch”.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Rosa Mae Ford, and
paternal grandparents, Elder Norman Sr. and Bertha Hatchell.
David leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving mother, Sadie Ford Hatchell
of Dillon, South Carolina, Father, William Moses Hatchell of Trenton, New Jersey;
one daughter, Davianne Tart of Columbia, South Carolina; two sons, Jamerson Page
of Dillon, South Carolina, Damien Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Ki’monnie Page, Armani White, Karter Anderson and Saint Rogers;three sisters, Towanta Manning of Florence, South Carolina,Veronica(Douglas)McRae of Davidson, North Carolina; Tanya(Shelton)Harlee of Concord, North Carolina; Aunts, Gladys(James)Evans of Trenton, New Jersey,Mary(Robert)Edwards of Trenton, New Jersey, Loretta(Raymond)Brinson of Waynesboro, Georgia; Uncles Norman Hatchell Jr. of Trenton, New Jersey, King David(Marcia)Hatchell of Trenton, New Jersey, Special nieces, Ta’kesha Manning and Asia McRae; Special Nephew, Michael Manning, Jr.; two special great-nieces,Tanasha and Khloe Manning; two Special cousins, Dawn(Alex)Jerido and Jessica Ford of Trenton, New Jersey; God Mother, Barbara Pugh, long lifetime friends/brothers, Sergeant Major Patrick(Debra) McBride, Timothy Hayes, and James Owens; Community brother, Glenn Wright; Special Friend, Gala Hayes, as he called her “Best Female Friend in the World”, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 705 Lockemy HWY, Dillon, SC 29536. An obituary will be posted at a later date.
